About Ellen Marshall

Ellen Marshall
creates one-of-a-kind and limited-edition art jewelry featuring polymer clay.  Fiberart and ceramics inspire her art.  These influences led her to exploring surface design on polymer clay.   Ellen's first book, Polymer Clay Surface Design Recipes, published by Quarry, presents many of the surface techniques she has developed.  She is published in other books and magazines including Step By Step Beads and PolymerCafe

“As I develop a piece, the interplay of color and texture often affects how I continue the work.  In the end, it’s not simply a necklace or pin that I’ve created, but an expression of the communication between the material and me, which ultimately becomes the wearer’s expression.  What could be more fulfilling than that!”

Ellen is the founder and former chair of the Philadelphia Area Polymer Clay Guild and a former president of the National Polymer Clay Guild.  Ellen has been teaching polymer clay craft for several years with the goal of inspiring others to explore new directions in their own art.
